The jade pendant

It was a cold winter night, people had tucked themselves to bed earlier than usual and the streets were mostly deserted. She stood by the door steps looking in the distance, all that was visible in the moon lit night were long tree shadows. Everything was silent as if the universe stood still, afraid to break the realm of nothingness. The chilling air had left her hands numb but she did not cared, she was not going to give up hope this easy, her body though was cold, her heart was still warm enough. She could wait all night, everything else was trivial.
They say time is relative, she could not recall since how long she had been standing there, maybe several hours, maybe just a few minutes? Her mind was too isolated to provide an answer. Casually she brushed her hairs from the face and loosened up her jacket a bit so that she could breathe better. Too tired to stand, she sat down on the footsteps and aimlessly stared at her feet. By all means it was not going to happen, logic told her that it had been too long and that waiting was useless but her heart had other plans. Trying to sound convincing she told herself in a soft voice “just a few more minutes”. She stood up and began walking restlessly on the side walk, again and again she checked her phone for a message, for a sign, anything but there was nothing, just her desperate self and the desire to end it all. She was growing agitated, yet not enough to leave everything and go back.
She looked up and smiled, in the midst of the deserted street amongst the shadows she saw him coming. Moving at a steady pace and sweat breaking all over his face, she could see him clearly now as he neared and stood at a close distance to. Panting heavily he looked up at her face, she was not smiling now but there was something about her that had always struck a chord in his heart. He was dumbstruck, amazed at how beautiful she was looking even at such a time.
glowing grace in the moon lit night…
looking on with innocent eyes…patiently waiting by the door steps…
holding on to a new found zest…
No words were exchanged so far but both were used to hear the unspoken. Slowly he reached for his pocket, her eyes nervously followed his hand. He took out a wooden box and held it up to her, for a moment she hesitated and then touched his hands. A warm feeling took over him, her hands were soft and comfortable, how perfect they looked locked in his fingers. Shimmering with joy she opened the box to find a small necklace curled up in it. A wide smile broke all across her face as the two passionately hugged and entered a trance. She held tightly to him and he too showed no signs of letting her go. “I will always hold it near my heart” she said in a promising yet happy voice. In a deep and calm tone he said “I am glad you liked it, want me to do the honors?”. She did not replied to this, just turned her back towards him and cleared her hair from the neck. He took the silver chain and hooked it around her neck carefully. She turned around once more to face him, the jade pendant now resting peacefully on her chest looked ever more stunning. The night had grown out of its silence, the stars shinned bright and angles descended from heaven as two souls kissed to become one.

I find little cuteness and much warmth in it. Deep imagination!
I would suggest you to re-read it for few spelling/typing errors.
