Brand me

What is the first thought which crosses your mind when I say “Terrorist”? Yep that’s right, the word that echoed in your mind is Muslims. A long bearded fellow wearing a turban on head and with a look on his face which says if-you-are-not-muslim-you-must-die. Did you ever considered why is that certain words will always form certain images in your head? That is because we humans relate names with things, or in my case names with actions. When you hear someone saying a word such as “Apple” there are high chances you will think of the company Apple which creates iPhones. This is what in today’s world is called branding. You associate particular traits to words and then spread the concept as a general idea. If by any means you think that it is one of those posts where I am trying to defend the case of Islam and its followers please be rest assured it ain’t so. I with all my limited knowledge want to highlight a serious propaganda that has been around for quite sometime. You, me and many others are involved in it without even knowing. I am certain a lot of people will disagree with what I have to say but for the sake of it please do hear me out. I will not take names just for the sake of avoiding dispute, yesterday I saw a chat pasted on a Faceboook fan page where the owner said to one of his fans that he will not approach a Maulvi to discuss religious issues because the last time he met one (as a child) the maulvi tried to touch his wee-wee. Period, all maluvi’s are child molesters and so is every person who has ever been to a madarsa. Really? That is what you call logical reasoning? That is how you sample people and data? I am impressed and believe me had it been an individuals opinion I wouldn’t have bothered to write anything down but to see masses support such theories made me pen down all of this. Funny as it may sound to some a certain friend of mine was a victim of molesting too (name avoided for obvious reasons). She however was NOT going to a madarsa, she was in a school (a very prestigious one mind you) and the molester was NOT a maulvi it was her class 5 teacher. There I said it, all teachers are bloody molesters and perverts. Not that I am defending madarsa system, yes they do beat the crap out of children but beating children is an issue in schools too. I won’t indulge in lengthy discussions as the post is already too long 
So you be the judge of it. All I wish to say is that there are pros and cons of every system, and one cannot generalize everyone on the basis of the actions taken by a few individuals. Branding all maulvi, mufti and islamic allama’s as someone who preaches nothing but rigidity and is corrupt to the core is same as if I would say that every liberal does drugs, is gay and is into premarital sex just because a few liberals I know are like this. Give it a thought, be logical, be reasonable. If you must, then brand me for the right reasons.
