It is the third straight week in which K.E.S.C has blessed our office with absolute absence of electricity! Yep you heard that right, there is no electricity which means all stand by modes (UPS, generator, building generator) have been consumed. This also means a complete black out inside offices and work efficiency dropping drastically. Imagine working in an environment where not even a single fan is working, the dispenser is pouring hot water and people are sweating constantly due to the heat which contributes effectively to the aroma in the room! I am seriously thinking to put a sign saying Welcome to hell on the front door. If that all looks like a challenge to you try adding on words like urgent, important, very urgent to every single task of the day! Yet work proceeds, with some glitches of course but nothing is at a total freeze. People are still coming in to the office, and still trying to give in their best. The spirit is not as high as you would like but asking that in such conditions would be ridiculous. Every possible measure is being taken to ensure that somehow work does not gets affected, the office wheel keeps on rolling forward. If you are aware of the true Pakistani essence I am sure you are not surprised, after all issues like this have become part of our daily lives and we have learned to adjust with them. That is what our nation is so good at, survival. We can be in the worst conditions humanely possible and still adjust accordingly, to be honest we are a very dynamic nation. We have seen the worst and we have beaten the worst. Each and everyone of us somehow knows how to survive. The question to ponder on however is, has this skill of survival made us immune to everything? and is that a good thing?
